I started taking pilates from TPF several years ago and love it! Since then I’ve tried many of the other classes they offer and find them all fun and challenging. They offer classes like TRX and Pilates X-tend that you can’t find in the larger gyms. Instructors are all top notch. Plus, they have an excellent massage therapist who is one of the best I’ve ever had. If you want a smaller, friendlier environment and a more personalized experience, you will love Turning Point Fitness!

I have been training on the pilates equipment with Lisa consistently for a year. It has made me more aware of my body and has given me a stronger core. My abdominal area is firmer and I stand taller. The variety of exercises excite me; can be challenging at times, but most of all, it’s FUN!

As a Physical Therapist for over 25 years, there seems to be a growing population with cervical and low back pain. This can be atributed to natural degeneration, repetitive trauma , poor psoture / body mechancis, and instability of vertebal joints. I have found Pilates to be an excellent resource for continued corrective care either in conjunction with or part Phyical Therapy. This stability program reinforces core and lower extremity strength as well as incooporating essential pricinples of posture and body mechanics. Individuals who participate regulary in a Pilates program can be free of pain and can persue recreatiional and fitness endeavors.

I ‘m addicted! Pilates is a form of exercise I actually like to do. After three years I find that I am continually pushing myself for a challenging workout. Core strength and stability is very important to a massage therapist and Pilates does that for me. I don’t have back problems that a lot of other massage therapists complain about. I would recommend Lisa to anyone. She is very knowledgeable about Pilates adn the way our bodies move and it is reflected in her classes and one-on- one sessions.

I began taking one-on-one Reformer sessions with Lisa in November2007 after being released from physical therapy due to intense lower back, neck and arm pain. I’ve always done some form of exercise but nothing compares to the benefits gained from doing Pilates, especially on the Reformer. It’s the one activity I hate to miss and I always look forward to my sessions. I chose to do the Reformer sessions because I needed someone to make sure I was getting the maximum results without injury. While I also do the mat sessions, I’m not always as disciplined to push myself. With Lisa focused on me, I can’t slack off. Lisa is always encouraging, motivating and mindful of where my limitations are. At first, the Reformer & Chair “contraptions” seemed a bit intimidating…so many things to learn, I thought I’d never be able to do it. Lisa is wonderful. She’s patient but insistent on ensuring you do the moves accurately to get the most benefit. She makes every session varied, interesting, and fun. I’m stronger, I have better posture, and I feel great!
I worked with Lisa for 6 weeks to attempt get back into shape- being a 44 year old male and having a very active professional and personal life- finding time for exercise was difficult.
I received Lisa’s name from the Westerville Rec Center and Googled her to get background information on her- when Lisa contacted me she spent time to understand my goals and expectations in working with a personal trainer. I was very pleased with her desire to understand my goals and needs versus coming across as the expert who has all the answers. In our first live meeting we again discussed goals and expectations as well as she did a fitness evaluation on me which she used to design a personalized exercise plan for me.
In the six weeks of working with Lisa- I was able to reduce my waist size 2 inches and to lose 10 lbs. I was also appreciative of Lisa accommodating my schedule (I travel quite a bit) to fit my schedule. I have continued working out on my own with Lisa still checking in to see if I have any questions or further guidance on my exercise plan.
I would highly recommend Lisa as a personal trainer- she was able to motivate as well as push me to work towards my goals. Lisa’s “coaching” style is highly motivating and appreciated. She cares about you as an individual and is a “partner” in reaching your goals.
I love Pilates! As a mostly inactive person, I was intimidated about starting a program but after taking the Introduction to Pilates classes, I am hooked. I will do this for the rest of my life. After two accidents I thought I would always have back/neck pain but now I feel like a new person. Thanks Lisa, and the rest of the Turning Point team!!
I started taking classes at Turning Point Fitness (TPF) in January 2009 and have been hooked ever since. I have taken classes and had sessions in Pilates, Jump Board, TRX, Kettle Bells, Zumba and Turbo Kick to name a few. The diversity of course offerings allows me to have variety in my workouts, the attention to detail provided by the instructors ensures I am using the proper techniques, and the customer service clients receive is excellent. Since starting my fitness program with TPF I have increased energy, lost inches and weight, improved my posture and feel much stronger. I really appreciate Lisa and her staff for getting me on the path to a healthy lifestyle.
I went through many versions of what I could say about my experience at Turning Point Fitness. At first I thought I could write about the variety of classes I’m able to take there. But any glance at the schedule could tell you that. Then, I thought about describing how fun and effective a workout Zumba is, but anyone who drops in for that class at least once could tell you that. I also thought about explaining how the sculpting and strength training in pilates and TRX have been the perfect complement to cardio classes. But any other patron of Turning Point Fitness (or their physician) could tell you that.
I really attend Turning Point Fitness for the people. It is a very supportive community of all different ages, shapes, and levels of fitness. There is just the right combination of motivation and comfort, so being self-conscious is never really an issue. (There are only so many times you can shake your hips in Zumba before embarrassment ceases to be an option.)
In terms of motivation, the staff at Turning Point Fitness makes our health and well-being their main goal. And this clearly is not just lip service. Both Lisa and Bobbie go out of their way to make sure we get the most out of our classes and sessions. They are always pushing me to go farther than I think I can. But they also factor in my limitations to make sure I don’t push myself too far. I’ve had two knee surgeries and Lisa and Bobbie are attuned to whether an exercise is detrimental to my knee. If it is, they suggest alternatives to demonstrate that I can still be fit—even with a bum knee.
I could go to any gym around town to get a workout, but I prefer Turning Point Fitness for the right combination of cardio, strength, community, and personal attention I get there. Ultimately, though, I take classes there because it’s fun!
