After gaining a substantial amount of weight post-college, Monique became determined to make fitness and health a priority in her life. Almost going to excess at moments during her two year, 100 pound weight-loss journey, she found that her body had become run-down, fatigued, and began to injure easily. Then she returned to practicing Pilates (something that had started at home with a handful of DVDs) and has never looked back. Pilates nurtured and transformed her body while providing the constant opportunity to challenge herself in new ways. It also provided her body with the inner strength and balance to move properly, and most importantly, injury free, in her other activities. She still utilizes running, TRX cross-training, and other movement disciplines to maintain a well-rounded approach to fitness, but has made Pilates the cornerstone of her health and wellness foundation. Monique continually strives to find greater depth in her personal practice but is now thrilled to help others find their own transformation from the inside out, no matter where they are starting from or how far they think they have to travel to their goal. She currently teaches group Pilates classes, as well as offering Private and Semi-Private comprehensive Pilates equipment instruction.
